This page is for my DAD. I went to see him on Father's Day 2000 and took these pictures. He was not feeling well but we had a wonderful visit.I spent the night and we went to church that Father's Day Sunday.
We lost my Mom in July of 93 and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss her in some way.We were very close.
My parents were married for 48 years and had a wonderful marriage. They brought me up in a loving Christian home and for that I will be forever greatful.
However...
Life goes on ......and Daddy found a little lady named Helen. They had known each other 50 years. Daddy was a friend of her husband's when they were boys.
He went to visit them after Mama died and found that they had moved. When he finally located them,he found that Helen's husband had died shortly before Mama.
They began corresponding and one thing led to another.Everything clicked and they were married.
She gave my dad renewed hope and love of life and they were together for 5 1/2 years.
Throughout all of my pages,I have come to have one standard "motto".It is listed below.
This pic was taken Father's Day 2000....I am sad to say that we lost him on July 16,2000. I am so glad that I got to spend that last Father's Day with him.He was a wonderful father and I was his "little girl",even to the end.He will be sadly missed and remembered with love and pride.
If he were here now,he would say "It was a WONDERFUL life!".....and it was! What more could there be?

My Dad loved nature. He loved to hunt and fish.
He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the wonder of all of nature.
It was his wish to be placed to rest at the lake that captured his heart so many years ago....so on a beautiful Saturday after his death,Helen and I carried out that wish. God gave us a beautiful day.The lake was calm with just a hint of a breeze. The unusally hot weather cooled and it was very pleasant. No boats were in sight which was very strange for a weekend. I have no doubt that God had a hand it that...and I thank him with all of my heart.
Helen said a "goodbye"prayer and I read the following poem.I think Daddy would have been pleased.
God took the strength of a mountain,
Then God combined these qualities,

The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need.
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so,
He called it ... Dad
